EXCELLENT Based on 24 reviews Posted on Haywood MTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon evening. It could not have been more pleasant. We were able to sit outside on a screened porch to have a glass of wine, and the setting was quiet and comfortable. Our room was in the main house and both attractive and comfortable. Breakfast was so artfully done, and we had the chance to see some of the cottages the next day. It is a quiet, lovely setting without road noise or anything to intrude on the experience. Judith was so helpful when we were booking to tell us about the different choices for rooms, and to tour us around a bit before we left. We will return here again. Highly recommended without reservation.Posted on Holly WTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Charming, beautiful weekend escape. Breakfast was worth the drive! That tomato pie was stellar. The location, while remote, was close to great restaurants and shops. We enjoyed McClellanville and downtown Georgetown. The accommodations were southern elegance at its best. We will definitely return.Posted on Katherine LTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Wicklow Hall From the drive through the gate that wends past ancient live oaks dripping with Spanish moss and lined with vintage camellia bushes, to the welcoming front porch of the historic 1800’s main house, the journey is enchanting and magical. Imagine a place that sits just a little north of Charleston nestled amongst the sprawling acres of time-honored forests on the Santee river delta. Wicklow Hall embodies Southern hospitality and elegance under a canopy of bright stars. Coming from the creative world of photography, my eyes were filled with visual inspiration at every turn. From the hand-painted mural of a beautiful lowcountry scene that welcomed us as we first stepped into the Grand House, to the rare Egyptian Revival arches and beautiful hues of blue at every turn…there were not enough moments for us to cherish at Wicklow Hall. The care and attention to detail that new owners David & Judith Rinella have poured into this Grand Dame are evident at every turn. It’s a beautiful and sumptuous palette that gives just enough to ignite ones senses, yet leaves room in its aura for guests to fill it with their own precious memories and impressions. We stayed in Suite Six, a little piece of private paradise at the end of the hall in the Grand House. Quiet and serene, but steps from the quaint bar and sitting areas. The four poster bed was so comfy, we had the best sleep of our lives! Don’t forget to leave time for a luxurious bath in the Japanese soaking tub and a little stargazing on a clear night! Until next time… we can’t wait! #wicklowforever Wicklow for the Win! This time I booked three rooms in the main house for myself and my two besties. I have been dying to share this special place with them and the stars aligned for a girls weekend at Wicklow! The weather was perfection; it was after the rain and the butterflies 🦋 were everywhere! It was so lovely to walk the grounds and feel the enchantment of the trees and flowering bushes. Red camellias were popping and the Spanish moss was dancing in the breeze from the limbs of trees. Our rooms were so charming, filled with quaint antiques and lovely design touches. Each room had windows with special views of the trees, light pouring in by day and substantial velvet curtains to cocoon in the room by night. We had rooms seven, five and four. One up, two downstairs. After a delicious dinner at the Independent at the George Hotel in Georgetown, we continued our evening with drinks in the bespoke Wicklow bar. Oh if those walls could talk!! Suffice to say it was the perfect vibe for all of us to relax and share stories together in fits of laughter that night, coffee time in jammies in the morning lounging in the breakfast nook. A complete gift! Special thanks to the lovely Proprietress, Judith Puckett-Rinella, who graciously gave some of her time with us, regaling us with stories of her Wicklow adventures in creating this one-of-a-kind sanctuary on the Hammock coast!Posted on Janine STrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Beautiful, historic inn. Superbly maintained. Each room is impeccably done with no detail spared. The grounds and gardens are lovely. Just an hour from Charleston and you feel worlds away. I can’t wait to come back!Posted on Jeannie BTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had the absolute best time at Wicklow! Judith went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We stayed in the cottage, but were able to experience the main house and grounds/gardens as well! Special place! We will be back!Posted on Tina HTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Wicklow is a stylish, comfortable, and cozy escape just up the road from Charleston. Each room/cabin is their own unique experience. The beds are super comfortable. Hospitality is five star. Perfect place to spend a few days away.Posted on Catherine LTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Wicklow Hall is an absolute hidden gem. From the moment my husband and I arrived, everything felt like a breath of fresh air—peaceful, secluded, and overflowing with charm. The beds were unbelievably cozy, the food was incredible, and every little detail made the experience feel elevated yet homey. It’s the kind of place that instantly puts you at ease. What truly sets Wicklow Hall apart, though, is the heart behind it. Judith and David's passion for the property shines through in every corner. Chatting with her was such a treat; her enthusiasm is contagious and makes you fall even more in love with the place. If you’re looking for a quiet, picturesque escape that feels like a well-kept secret, this is it. I’ve been raving about it to everyone I know and can’t wait to return!Posted on Grace CTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Judith and David were such amazing hosts — and so was Wicklow Hall! We had an incredible stay, with delicious homemade breakfasts every morning that made it feel like home… but better. The history behind the place is fascinating, and every detail in the house was designed with care, precision, and a warm, homey feel. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous, and it’s incredible to see how they single-handedly brought it to life. Couldn’t recommend it more!Posted on Brian PTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This place is AMAZING. We stayed in the cottage, and it was gorgeous. The grounds are awesome as well. My wife walked our dog around everyday. Everything you need for a relaxing getaway, and the town is only 15 minutes away for anything else you want. The owners are great people. They took us on a tour of the main home and the property. The work they have done is out of this world. Final thing, MAKE SURE you get the BREAKFAST in the morning. It is better than anything you are going to eat at any restaurant as well as it is dropped off to you freshly made by the owners. If you are ever wanting a truly breathtaking and relaxing vacation this should be your next stop.Posted on Lauren GTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Wicklow Hall! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at ease. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and full of Southern charm. We especially appreciated how dog-friendly it was- our pups were comfortable and loved exploring the grounds. The accommodations were cozy and clean, with everything we needed for a relaxing two night stay. Wicklow Hall truly felt like a home away from home, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, pet-friendly getaway in a stunning Lowcountry setting!
